As Founder and Managing Attorney, Jonathan M. Rhodes brings two decades of experience in business and startup, real estate and property rights, family law, and civil litigation practice. Having worked previously with larger organizations and law firms, Jonathan founded Rhodes Law as a boutique practice delivering the best service and advocacy to our clients. Jonathan leads the firm to provide excellent trial practice, strategic consulting and advice, as well as real-world experience that helps clients achieve their goals quickly and cost-effectively.

In Technology and Corporate Law, Jonathan has guided leading-edge companies in areas of corporate formation and governance, contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory compliance, IP and brand protection, M&A, venture financing, labor and employment, and litigation and dispute resolution. As outside general counsel, Jonathan provides comprehensive yet flexible legal services from startup to exit.

In Real Estate and Property Law, Rhodes Law has a sizeable Condo and HOA practice representing both owners and associations. In Real Estate development, Jonathan is a recognized leader in state and federal tax incentives, having developed dozens of residential and commercial projects generating millions of dollars in state and federal tax credits — helping rebuild communities with both vision and financial success.

In Family Law, Jonathan has represented individuals and families in all areas of practice including divorce and custody, child support, spousal support, partition of property, adoptions and more. As a known leader, Jonathan is often asked to handle complex property partitions, high net-worth divorces, and novel issues of same-sex marriage rights in trial and appellate courts. He is passionate about helping families and children through these difficult challenges.

Rhodes Law is committed to fairness and justice, with a recognized Civil Rights practice focused on Employment and cases involving violations of fundamental Constitutional rights. Jonathan has been recognized for his work holding government accountable in egregious Overdetention cases across Louisiana.

Beyond the office, Jonathan is deeply committed to his community. He has won numerous awards including the Legal Innovation Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the National Corporate Pro Bono Award for his work bringing pro bono assistance to Louisiana courts. Jonathan has been recognized by the Lt. Governor of Louisiana and the New Orleans City Council for his cultural contributions, appointed by the Mayor to the New Orleans Economic Advisory Committee, and he regularly participates in pro bono legal clinics, helping Louisiana residents access the justice system regardless of their financial means.
